About Us
Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc. is an independent publishing company founded in Stamford, Connecticut by Jan Yager, Ph.D. more than 25 years ago, in April 1996.
Our titles are in many genres including adult fiction and nonfiction, YA and middle grade fiction, illustrated children’s books, poetry, dramatic literature, and specialty books including workbooks and journals. FYI: The company is named after Hannacroix Creek, which is a creek behind the childhood home of Fred Yager, our founder’s husband, in Coeymans Hollow, New York.)
Our founder has experiences in publishing that include working at in the School division at Macmillan Publishing followed by an amazing year at Grove Press, learning all aspects of trade book publishing from CEO Barney Rosset, her own experiences as an author published by such major and indie houses as Simon & Schuster, Doubleday, Scribner, Penguin Random House, Wiley, Prentice-Hall, Square One Publishers, and more. The authors and illustrators published by Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc., besides our founder, are based in Connecticut, Florida, and other states in the U.S., as well as globally including in Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam. Our authors include include Fred Yager, Jeff Yager, Priscilla Orr, Susan Granger, Ray Fisher, Dave Koco, Carole Addabbo, and Russell D. Bernstein, to name a few. Our books have been illustrated by Nancy Batra, Mitzi Lyman, Andres Alvez, and Valentine. Cover and interior design has been provided by Nancy Batra, Chris Vindhy, Daniel Middleton, and others. Narrators for our audiobooks include Gale Cruz, Lindsay Arber, Dave Shipp Al Moulliet, Dave Shishan, Ray Weaver, Russell D. Bernstein, and many others.
Our award-winning books are translated into more than 20 languages. Our titles have been reviewed in trade publications including PUBLISHERS WEEKLY, LIBRARY JOURNAL, SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL, FOREWORD REVIEWS, and featured in such major publications as THE NEW YORK TIMES as well as author interviews on national shows such as THE VIEW, TODAY SHOW, CBS THIS MORNING, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, and OPRAH.
Whenever possible, we issue our titles in all three formats: e-books, print, and/or audiobooks.

Author Services Division
Our company also has an Author Services division that enables us to help authors who want to self-publish on their own. We offer developmental editing and ghostwriting as well as book coaching and consulting.
