Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc. is an independent publishing company founded in Stamford, Connecticut by Jan Yager, Ph.D. more than 25 years ago, in April 1996.
Our titles are in many genres including adult fiction and nonfiction, YA and middle grade fiction, illustrated children’s books, poetry, dramatic literature, and specialty books including workbooks and journals. FYI: The company is named after Hannacroix Creek, which is a creek behind the childhood home of Fred Yager, our founder’s husband, in Coeymans Hollow, New York.)
Our founder has experiences in publishing that include working at in the School division at Macmillan Publishing followed by an amazing year at Grove Press, learning all aspects of trade book publishing from CEO Barney Rosset, her own experiences as an author published by such major and indie houses as Simon & Schuster, Doubleday, Scribner, Penguin Random House, Wiley, Prentice-Hall, Square One Publishers, and more.
